Jessica M. Anderson

Ms. Anderson focuses her practice in defense litigation with a concentration on Tort Claims Act defense, FELA, automotive accidents, premises liability, railroad accidents, civil rights, wrongful death, property damage, and professional malpractice claims. Her clients include municipalities, governmental entities, railroads, school boards, large and small business owners, and their insurers. Ms. Anderson is experienced in all phases of civil litigation, including trial and appellate practice.

Prior to co-founding Anderson & Shah, Ms. Anderson was a partner at a regional New Jersey law firm, a Deputy Attorney General in the Tort Litigation Section of the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, and a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Ronny J. Siegal, J.S.C., Chancery Division, Family Part.
Ms. Anderson was named as a New Jersey Rising Star for Civil Litigation in 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016, as listed in the New Jersey Super Lawyers® magazine. Rising Stars are chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Thomson Reuters, as being among the top-up-and-coming lawyers in New Jersey. Only 2.5 percent of New Jersey attorneys receive this honor each year.

Ms. Anderson is a member of the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, District of Columbia, and Connecticut bars, and admitted to practice in: the District of New Jersey; the Southern District of New York; and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

Roshan D. Shah

Mr. Shah is a distinguished trial attorney with a knack for finding outside-the-box solutions. He represents clients in a wide range of industries, including commercial real estate, federal and state procurement, pharmaceutical and consumer electronics manufacturing, restaurants, as well as government officials and entities. This broad range of industry-specific knowledge is matched by the depth of his substantive legal expertise.

Mr. Shah has successfully represented clients in matters including commercial contract disputes, construction defect cases, consumer fraud actions, shareholder disputes, land use challenges, contested foreclosure actions, employment discrimination, premises liability, the New Jersey Child Sexual Abuse Act, and constitutional torts.

He has experience in a variety of forums, including federal and state trial courts, the United States Supreme Court, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the New Jersey Supreme Court, the New Jersey Appellate Division, and the Office of Administrative Law. He is also one of a handful of New Jersey attorneys who has handled bid protest matters before the United States Government Accountability Office, paving the way for his clients to obtain close to 1 billion in government contracts.

Mr. Shah’s matters involve some of the highest-profile cases in New Jersey, including the litigation over transforming the Monmouth Mall into a mixed-use site, Estate of Tamara Seidle v. Neptune wrongful death suit, the Lester Alford trial concerning solitary confinement, the Ass’n NJ Rifle & Pistol Clubs challenge to New Jersey’s one handgun per month law, and the historic pension litigation matter, Burgos v. Governor Christie.

Mr. Shah was recognized among the “Leaders in Law” by NJ Biz in 2018. He was named one of the New Jersey Law Journal’s New Leaders of the Bar for 2016. In 2015, he was awarded the New Jersey Attorney General’s Award for Trial Excellence.

Shana Don

Shana Don serves as Of Counsel to the Firm. Her practice focuses on employment litigation matters, including claims related to racial, religious, disability and gender discrimination, wage disparity, and sexual harassment. Ms. Don also extensive experience from a compliance perspective, having developed and provided anti-harassment and discrimination training; drafted extensive internal policies, and addressed disciplinary matters.
Ms. Don also has extensive experience in negotiating and litigating contracts including licensing and curriculum development, as well as vendor, construction, and lease agreements.  Prior to pursuing a career in the private sector, Ms. Don spent three years as a case manager in the arbitration and mediation department at the World Intellectual Property Organization of the United Nations. Her experience there has translated to assisting clients in trademark and domain name enforcement proceedings, and representing clients in a range of intellectual property matters. 
Ms. Don has appeared several times in the Appellate Division and Supreme Court of New Jersey, advancing novel arguments affecting public and private employment employers. She was recently honored as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in 2019.

Joseph E. Lanzot

Joseph E. Lanzot is Counsel at Anderson & Shah, LLC. He defends clients in a variety of commercial, employment, constitutional and personal injury litigation matters.
Before joining Anderson & Shah, LLC, Mr. Lanzot was an Assistant Prosecutor in both Hudson and Monmouth Counties, wherein he prosecuted hundreds of cases ranging from homicides, armed robberies, gun possession, and official misconduct. He has tried numerous cases to verdict in in both bench and jury trials on complex matters ranging from several weeks to several months. In addition, while at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, Mr. Lanzot was assigned to the Internal Affairs Unit, wherein he investigated complaints of law enforcement and public official misconduct on a daily basis, conducted interviews of key witnesses and representatives, and counseled municipal investigative agencies.
Mr. Lanzot is a graduate of Rutgers Law School-Newark, where he served as Editor of the Rutgers Law Review. He graduated from Lafayette College and was a member of the Lafayette College football team. He is a member of the New Jersey and New York Bar, and was admitted to both in 2011. Mr. Lanzot is also fluent in Spanish.

Todd S. McGarvey

Todd S. McGarvey is Counsel at Anderson & Shah, LLC. He focuses his practice on defense litigation with a concentration in commercial, employment, and personal injury matters.

Before joining Anderson & Shah, LLC, Mr. McGarvey was associated with a prominent defense litigation firm in Philadelphia where he defended businesses and individuals in a variety of areas, including but not limited to toxic tort, products liability, premises liability, and motor vehicle matters. Mr. McGarvey also has experience litigating cases from the plaintiff’s side, predominantly in the areas of medical malpractice, civil rights, commercial/business disputes, and employer-employee disputes.

Mr. McGarvey is a graduate of the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University, where he served on the Appellate Moot Court Board, was an Articles Editor for the Penn State Environmental Law Review, and was a legal intern for the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He graduated with high distinction and honors in English from the Pennsylvania State University.

Mr. McGarvey is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey, the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Erin Donegan

Ms. Donegan is a Senior Associate at Anderson & Shah, LLC. Her practice focuses on the defense of public entities, including school boards, municipalities, and their insurers, as well as business owners in litigation arising out of claims related to employment, civil rights, and personal injury. Ms. Donegan is also involved in the firm’s appellate work.

Prior to joining Anderson & Shah, LLC, Ms. Donegan served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jessica R. Mayer, J.A.D. in the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division.
Ms. Donegan is a graduate of Rutgers Law School, where she served as both a staff editor and articles editor of the Rutgers University Law Review. While in law school, she held several internship positions, including one for the Honorable Joseph P. Quinn, J.S.C., the Presiding Civil Judge in the Monmouth County Superior Court, and one in the Office of the Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Rutgers University. Upon graduation, Ms. Donegan earned a Certificate in Corporate and Business Law.
Ms. Donegan is a member of the New Jersey and New York State Bars. She is also admitted to practice in the District of New Jersey, the Southern District of New York, and the Third Circuit.

Dennis Schmieder

Dennis is a seasoned litigation attorney with nearly two decades of practical experience. His practice focuses on employment litigation matters including the areas of sexual harassment, workplace discrimination, hostile work environment, wrongful termination, and whistleblower claims.

Dennis also has significant experience in the areas of products liability, construction litigation, and general commercial litigation. Dennis earned his J.D. from William and Mary Law School in 2002 and his B.A. from Rutgers University in 1992.

Dennis has demonstrated a commitment to public service throughout his lifetime serving three years as a member of Teach for America teaching high school special education in the Mississippi Delta, serving two terms on the Springfield Township Board of Education, and serving three terms on the Springfield Township Affordable Housing Board. He is licensed to practice in New Jersey.

John Regina

John is Counsel at Anderson & Shah, LLC, and practices general defense litigation.

Prior to joining Anderson & Shah, LLC, John was a Deputy Attorney General in the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General – Division of Law for ten years. John has experience defending state agencies and employees in tort and civil rights cases, prosecuting consumer fraud claims, and trying administrative and employment disciplinary hearings. Prior to the Attorney General’s Office, John served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Mary Catherine Cuff, P.J.A.D., and the Honorable Jane Grall, J.A.D, in the New Jersey Superior Court – Appellate Division.

John is a graduate of Rutgers Law School – Newark and the College of William and Mary. John is a member of the New Jersey and New York Bars and is also admitted to practice in the District of New Jersey and the Third Circuit.

Nicholas R. Carlson

Nicholas R. Carlson

Nicholas R. Carlson is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and Seton Hall University Law School. Prior to graduation, Mr. Carlson served as an intern with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey and worked with indigent clients as part of Seton Hall’s legal aid clinic program.

Following law school, Mr. Carlson served as a law clerk for Assignment Judge Mary C. Jacobson of the Superior Court of New Jersey in Trenton, where he worked on a variety of cases involving State and local government, land use, fair housing, and civil rights. Through his private practice, Mr. Carlson has further experience in the areas of employment law, property law and zoning, civil rights law, consumer fraud, landlord-tenant matters, and general litigation.

Mr. Carlson resides in Monmouth County with his wife and their two (soon to be three) young children.

Anthony Fassano

Anthony is Counsel at Anderson & Shah, LLC, and practices general defense litigation.
Before joining the firm, Anthony was a litigator at two large law firms, where he litigated a number of different types of matters, including shareholder disputes, breaches of noncompete agreements, violations of the New Jersey Child Victim’s Act, and insurance coverage disputes. He also worked in the Office of the Solicitor for the United States Department of Labor, where he tried multiple cases involving violations of health and safety standards enforced by MSHA.
Anthony is a graduate of Rutgers Law School, Camden. During that time, he interned for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Attorney’s Office, and New Jersey Chief Justice Stuart Rabner. Anthony practices in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
